Plans for South Village, Caddick Developments’ new urban village in Leeds, have taken a major step forward following a £16 million funding boost from Homes England.
The funding will help unlock the next phase of infrastructure works at the South Bank site, supporting the delivery of new roads, utilities, footpaths and cycleways, alongside significant areas of new green space.
South Village is one of the largest regeneration projects currently being brought forward by Caddick Developments. The scheme has outline planning permission for 1,925 new homes, including affordable housing, alongside up to 650,000 sq ft of commercial space and extensive landscaped areas.
At the heart of the development will be a new village green, alongside a network of high-quality public spaces and sustainable transport connections designed to create a well-connected and vibrant new neighbourhood.
The Homes England funding represents an important milestone in bringing the vision for South Village closer to reality. Working alongside Homes England, Caddick Developments is continuing to progress the infrastructure needed to unlock the wider development and bring forward new homes, employment opportunities and community spaces.
The project forms part of the wider transformation of Leeds South Bank, one of the city’s most significant regeneration areas. South Village will help bring a major brownfield site back into productive use, creating a new neighbourhood that contributes to the continued growth and development of Leeds.
